Una sperimentazione continua di sonorità. Tra Oriente e Occidente, techno e motivi mediorientali, gli Acid Arab sono un’interessante fusione di culture e atmosfere che non smette mai di stupirci.

Vi presentiamo oggi gli Acid Arab. Il collettivo francese era inizialmente composto da Guido Minisky e Hervé Carvalho. In seguito, si sono aggiunti anche Kenzi Bourras, Pierre-Yves Casanova e Nicolas Borne. Il progetto nasce nel 2012, quando il duo inizia a pensare a fondere il mondo dell’acid house con i suoni tipici della musica araba. Da qui, inizia il loro cammino verso un nuovo stile di musica elettronica di fusione.

Dal 2012 ad oggi hanno prodotto diversi album ed EP, di cui ricordiamo, tra i più importanti, “Musique de France” del 2016, “Jdid” del 2019 e, insieme ad altri artisti come Omar Souleyman la compilation “Acid Arab Collections” del 2013. Una produzione ricchissima e molto seguita da Oriente e Occidente.

La loro caratteristica principale è quella di saper mixare sapientemente l’elettronica alle sonorità della musica araba, fondendo i due mondi in maniera particolarissima e creando un nuovo mondo, una realtà a sè. Perchè ogni brano di Acid Arab è questo: canti arabi con basi techno/acid house, in cui vi è una connessione quasi innata.

I loro live sono caratterizzati da un’atmosfera mistica. Questa armonia tra i due mondi crea questa sorta di spiritualismo in cui i partecipanti sono immersi al 100%. In sinstesi, durante i loro live, le persone possono avere la sensazione di essere altrove, in un contesto totalmente differente. La forza di Acid Arab è proprio questa: trasportare in un’altra dimensione e cultura grazie alle potenti e mistiche sonorità dei loro brani sapientemente studiati e mixati.

In particolare, negli ultimi anni sono diventati un punto di riferimento per l’elettronica più sperimentale e di fusione di sonorità musicali, anche per il contesto italiano. Infatti, hanno suonato a importanti festival come l’Ortigia Sound 2023 e 2024, in cui hanno portato sul palco tutto il loro mondo.

Allo stesso modo, anche importanti club sul panorama dell’elettronica di Milano come il BASE hanno chiamato sul proprio palco gli Acid Arab. Acid Arab: a sonic journey between East and West

A continuous experimentation of sounds. Between East and West, techno and Middle Eastern sounds, Acid Arab is an interesting fusion of cultures and atmospheres that never ceases to amaze us.

Today we present you Acid Arab, the French collective composed (initially) of Guido Minisky and Hervé Carvalho, to which were also added Kenzi Bourras, Pierre-Yves Casanova and Nicolas Borne. The project was born in 2012, when the duo began to think about fusing the world of acid house with the typical sounds of Arabic music. From here, they began the journey toward a new style of electronic fusion music.

From 2012 to the present, they have produced several albums and EPs, the most important of which include 2016’s “Musique de France“, 2019’s “Jdid” and, together with other artists such as Omar Souleyman the 2013 compilation “Acid Arab Collections“. A very rich and widely followed production from East and West.

Especially, their main characteristic is to be able to skillfully mix electronics with the sounds of Arab music, blending the two worlds in a very special way and creating a new world, a reality of its own. Because every track by Acid Arab is this: Arabic songs with techno/acid house bases, in which there is an almost innate connection.

Their live performances are characterized by a mystical atmosphere, in which this harmony between the two worlds creates this kind of spiritualism in which the participants are 100% immersed. During their live performance, people can have the feeling of being somewhere else, in a totally different context. The strength of Acid Arab is precisely this: to transport to another dimension and culture thanks to the powerful and mystical sounds of their expertly crafted and mixed songs.

In particular, in recent years they have become a reference point for more experimental electronic and fusion music sounds, even for the Italian context. In fact, they have played at important major festivals such as Ortigia Sound 2023 and 2024, where they brought their whole world to the stage.

However, they are not only festival guests. Also important clubs on the electronic scene in Milan such as BASE have called Acid Arab on their stage. And they will be back on stage again this year on February 22nd at BASE, at the evening organized by Le Cannibale.
