- A ransomware attack hit Ohio-based Kettering Health, CNN reported. While the emergency department stayed open, inpatient and outpatient procedures were cancelled for one day (May 20) as the health system responded.
- A survey from LexisNexis Risk Solutions found half of patients who don’t use patient portals aren’t confident their data is secure, compared to just 11% of patients who use portals. All told, 17% of patients who don’t use portals cite security as their main reason concern.
- A Qualtrics survey found 61% of healthcare consumers are willing to pay a premium for a better experience when visiting their primary care physician.
- The latest report from the Peterson Health Technology Institute found virtual tools for managing depression and anxiety symptoms improve outcomes, though lower prices may ne necessary to help manager overall care costs.
