Maple Leafs place Pacioretty on injured reserve, recall Jacob Quillan
The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled Jacob Quillan from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.
The Toronto Maple Leafs placed forward Max Pacioretty on injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 18, the NHL team announced Wednesday.
The veteran forward has been sidelined with an upper-body injury after taking a puck to the side of the head.
In 32 games with the Leafs this season, the 36-year-old has five goals and seven assists.
Toronto has also recalled Jacob Quillan from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.
The 22-year-old has played predominately as the Marlies’ third-line centre, registering six goals and 15 points in 35 games.
The Dartmouth, N.S. native signed with the Leafs last season as a college free agent to a two-year, entry-level contract.
Quillan won the NCAA national championship in 2023 as a sophomore — beating out Matthew Knies’ Minnesota Golden Gophers — with Quinnipiac after potting the overtime winner, also earning tournament MVP at the Frozen Four.
