Clearsense Revitalizes Data From EHRs, Archives, Back Office

Clearsense enables organizations to create an enterprise healthcare data lakehouse that unifies data across multiple sources and applications from different vendors. In this video, CEO and Board Member Jason Z. Rose and CTO Jonathan Cook describe the move to the “Silicon Valley of Healthcare” in Nashville, and their strategic rebranding of Clearsense as a data enablement platform.

Rose says that their 1Clearsense Platform includes solutions that help drive tangible ROI through three overarching challenges recently identified by Gartner: cost reduction, revenue creation, and addressing cyber risk mitigation. He also cites estimates that 20-30% of the applications used at health care sites are bloat. Along with the consolidation of EHRs and ERPs, the significant trend towards health system M&A drives the urgent need to better manage application portfolios.

The 1Clearsense Platform healthcare data lakehouse streams archived data and converts it from proprietary or complex formats to a more usable and accessible state. Beyond increased accessibility to clinical data, the data is often used for AI training and model validation by clients. Cook points out that they combine data from multiple types of input—EHRs, ERP, etc.—and enables end-users to view all data about a patient from multiple systems on a single dashboard in their normal workflow. Clearsense’s APIs embeds its UI directly into the EHR so that the clinician doesn’t need to log in to another system to view all the relevant data, including archived data.

Rose calls the 1Clearsense Platform a “middleware” which provides the foundational source of truth for larger health systems, enabling the client to overlay other vendor applications and complement data warehousing initiatives. Leveraging the data enablement architecture, cohort stratification for clinical trial patient matching is another common application for Clearsense to increase revenue through grants and other life science partnership opportunities. In addition, health systems are leveraging the platform to validate the promised value of 3rd party applications such as AI and other BYOT areas.

Watch the video for news about Clearsense’s relocation to Nashville, rebranding, and how they’re helping health systems revitalize their data to drive meaningful outcomes.
