This ongoing partnership aims to further develop the domestic traffic airport’s operations and solidify Sitia as a key gateway to the region of Lasithi.

Since the partnership began in 2022, Zela Aviation and Sitia Crete Airport have worked together to boost passenger traffic, promote eastern Crete’s tourism potential, and establish the airport as a vital entry point for international visitors and now Zela Aviation in 2025 will focus more on the Domestic Traffic.

Sitia Crete, renowned for its pristine landscapes, the iconic Vai Palm Forest, and proximity to tourist hubs such as Agios Nikolaos and Elounda, continues to attract visitors seeking a unique blend of natural beauty, culture, and warm hospitality.

Sitia Airport, located in the eastern part of the island, features a modern terminal and robust facilities capable of handling increased passenger traffic. With a runway length of 2,040 meters and the capacity to serve 900 passengers per hour, it is well-equipped to accommodate further growth.
