Uma Thurman has been set as a series regular opposite Michael C. Hall in the original series “Dexter: Resurrection” at Paramount+ with Showtime.
Production got underway in New York earlier this month on the series which is effectively the second season of the revival series “Dexter: New Blood”.
Hall will return as serial killer Dexter Morgan, joined by fellow returning franchise alum David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, and James Remar as Harry Morgan.
Thurman will play Charley, a former Special Ops officer turned Head of Security for mysterious billionaire Leon Prater. Charley has worked high-level private security jobs before taking on her position as Prater’s resourceful and meticulous underling.
‘New Blood’ ended with Dexter shot and left for dead in the snow. The prequel series, “Dexter: Original Sin” briefly showed events after ‘New Blood’ in which Dexter is revived in hospital and undergoing surgery – but nothing beyond that.
‘Original Sin’ became Showtime’s most streamed premiere in history with more than 2.1 million global cross-platform viewers.
‘Resurrection’ will continue the events of past ‘New Blood’ and will be set in the present day. Clyde Phillips returns to serve as showrunner.
“Dexter: Resurrection” is aiming to premiere this Summer.
