A24 has premiered the trailer for its new horror feature – “Opus”. The film stars Ayo Edebiri (“The Bear,” “Bottoms”), John Malkovich (“Ripley”), Juliette Lewis (“Yellowjackets”), Murray Bartlett (“The Last of Us”), and Amber Midthunder (“Prey”).
The story centers on Ariel, a bookish young journalist sent to visit reclusive pop star Alfred Moretti (Malkovich), who has resurfaced after disappearing for thirty years.
When she arrives at his compound, Ariel realizes that Moretti has become a figure of obsession for those around him, so much so he’s able to use them for his own nefarious plans.
Stephanie Suganami, Young Mazino and Tatanka Means co-star in writer-director Mark Anthony Green’s directorial debut film that will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival next Monday.
Green penned his own script and produces the film with Joshua Bachove, Collin Creighton, Poppy Hanks, Jelani Johnson and Brad Weston.
“Opus” is slated to release in cinemas on March 14th.
