Tiger Woods will make his first pro start of the season in next week’s Genesis Invitational, the tour announced Friday afternoon.
The 49-year-old has won Torrey Pines — the course hosting this year’s signature event — eight times during his illustrious career.
This will be his first PGA Tour appearance since last year’s Open Championship, where he matched his highest 36-round score as a professional, shooting 156 and missing the cut.
Woods has teed off in front of a crowd this season, playing twice with his Jupiter Links Golf Club of TGL, a simulator-based golf league he co-owns and competes in alongside other PGA Tour stars.
The fifteen-time major champion has been dealing with right-leg injuries since a car accident in February of 2021 but has continued fighting to compete at the highest level since.
Woods currently sits tied for first all-time in PGA Tour victories with Sam Snead at 82.
The Genesis Invitational was originally scheduled to be held at Riviera Country Club in California but was moved to Torrey Pines in San Diego after wildfires tore through the region.
The tournament will begin Feb. 13 and is the third signature event of the PGA’s 2025 schedule.
