SXSW announced the rest of its 2025 film and television lineup on Wednesday, including the world premiere of Jillian Bell's directorial debut Summer Of '69. It was also announced that the festival will feature the U.S. premiere of On Swift Horses, directed by Daniel Minahan. The film stars Jacob Elordi and Will Poulter as brothers and Daisy Edgar Jones as Poulter's wife. The queer romance previously had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September, and will now close out the Austin-based festival.
Bell stars in her own film, a coming-of-age comedy, alongside Chloe Fineman, Sam Morelos, Nicole Byer, Liza Koshy, Natalie Morales, Alex Moffat, Charlie Day, and more. Other newly announced additions to the SXSW lineup include the world premieres of Sweetness, from writer-director Emma Higgins, and Trash Baby, from writer-director Jacy Mairs. The Narrative Spotlight program will also feature the world premiere of Magic Hour, co-written by Mark Duplass and his wife Katie Aselton and directed by Aselton. University of Austin alum Matthew McConaughey will also see the festival premiere of his new film The Rivals Of Amziah King, directed by Andrew Patterson.
Previously announced premieres include The Accountant 2, starring Ben Affleck, and Paul Feig's Another Simple Favor starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick. On Swift Horses star Poulter will be doubly represented at the festival with the previously announced world premiere of Death Of A Unicorn, in which he co-stars with Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd. You can check out the list of SXSW additions below; the full lineup and descriptions are available on the festival website here.
