PS Plus Premium Users Convinced They’ve Figured Out Upcoming Classics

PS Plus Premium users seem convinced that a major franchise is making a return in 2025, starting with upcoming classics. The franchise in question is none other than Ape Escape, which not only received some love in Astro Bot, but is also making an appearance in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, per Sony’s own PS Store leak.

Why PS Plus Premium users think they’re getting Ape Escape classics

We’ve seen some viral posts making rounds, speculating that Ape Escape 3 and its spinoffs are inbound for PS Plus Premium lineup. There are also rumors that Sony may “fix” Ape Escape 2 on the PS5, releasing a new version based on the improved PS2 emulation.

In tracing the origins of this speculation, we found a Reddit thread that further references a … wait for it … 4Chan post. The post in question seems to be making educated guesses based on the Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake vs. Monkey mode leak as well as Sony quietly releasing improved versions of PS2 games.

It’s also worth pointing out that Sony partner Implicit Conversions, which helps port classics to PS Plus, recently revealed that Ape Escape 3 made the list of its most-requested PS Plus classics.

So, while the speculation above doesn’t seem to have come from a proper source or leak, it does sound like an educated guess so we won’t be surprised if it turns out to be true.
