Ninja Gaiden 2 Black Update to Add New Features

During the latest Xbox Developer Direct, Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo shadow dropped a remaster of its beloved action game, Ninja Gaiden 2. Just a few days after its launch, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black has received its first update fixing some pretty major bugs. The developer also teased another patch that will bring new features to the game.

Newest Ninja Gaiden 2 Black update adds progression block fix

In a recent X post from Team Ninja, the studio says it is currently preparing a patch set for a mid-February release. The update will include balance adjustments and additional features. These new improvements are being made based on community feedback according to the developer. Exactly what these features are is not yet known.

As for the update that recently released, the most notable fix is for the Microsoft Store version of the game, fixing an issue with DLSS and XeSS. It also fixed an issue where the game would be impossible to progress after beating certain bosses.

Ninja Gaiden 2 originally launched in 2008 for Xbox 360. A PS3 port titled Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 was released in 2009, featuring the original story mode with changes to gameplay.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is available for PS5 now for $49.99 on the PS Store. It features enhancements for the PS5 Pro. Critically, it is doing fairly well thus far. Right now, it holds an 81 metascore on the review aggregate site Metacritc.
