ELLKAY as an Enterprise Data Management Partner

In this far-ranging interview, Ajay Kapare discusses the goals and collaborative methods of ELLKAY from his perspective as its new President & CEO.  Kapare is one of the most connected people in healthcare IT and so we were excited to learn about what’s next for ELLKAY and their partners with him as the new CEO.

ELLKAY provides interoperability solutions, planning to be “anything and everything around data and interoperability.” Kapare describes the company as an “enterprise data management” partner, knowing how to get data out of silos. He mentioned their LKOpera service, “healthcare data on demand” which is being leveraged by a wide variety of healthcare organizations.

Whenever data is concerned, provenance (source), quality, and formats are always important. Kapare says this is equally true for AI applications as for other uses.  ELLKAY is working hard to make sure that the data that fuels the AI revolution happening in healthcare is high quality and trusted.

The thread connecting all of ELLKAY’s collaborative work, both among their staff and with their clients (who he says are considered “partners”) is listening. Trust the staff and consider ideas. Let partners say what works for them. Planning and early whiteboarding are important, so you can deliver on what you promise. Kapare also says that a lot depends on how you stay patient and react to events on “not-so-good-days.”  Healthcare is challenging and having good partners helps healthcare organizations navigate the complexities of healthcare.
