Christian Lee Hutson brought out Maya Hawke at Bowery Ballroom show w/ Allegra Krieger (pics, video)
Last time Christian played NYC, where he now lives, he brought out Phoebe Bridgers, and this time he had another frequent collaborator on hand to join him.
Christian Lee Hutson is on tour supporting his fantastic 2024 album Paradise Pop. 10, and while the Grammys were happening on Sunday night (2/2), he stopped in NYC for a show at Bowery Ballroom. He’s doing a stripped down duo setup for this outing, playing acoustic guitar with Odessa Jorgensen joining him on violin and vocal harmonies, and adding to the living room vibes, he and Jorgensen played seated with a small table and lamp between them. His often haunting observations and character sketches are perfectly suited to the hushed, intimate format, and between songs he answered a few questions from the crowd and told the story of a near death experience while trying to unwind before bed.
The last time Hutson played NYC (where he lives now), he brought out Phoebe Bridgers, and this time he brought out another regular collaborator, Stranger Things actress and musician Maya Hawke. She joined him on Paradise Pop. 10 track “Candyland,” dancing around on the side when she wasn’t adding harmonies. Watch video of that, and some other songs from Sunday night, below.
Allegra Krieger is opening this run, and she did a solo set that included songs off her great 2024 album Art of the Unseen Infinity Machine. See pictures from the whole night below.
