The Whisper Man
Oscar winner Robert De Niro has signed on for the leading role in the Netflix crime thriller film “The Whisper Man” which will shoot this Spring on the U.S. East Coast. James Ashcroft will direct from a screenplay by Ben Jacoby and Chase Palmer while Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Michael Disco produce.

Based on Alex North’s bestselling 2019 novel, the story revolves around a widow crime writer who, after his eight-year-old son is abducted, looks to his estranged and retired former police detective father for help. They discover a connection with the decades-old case of a convicted serial killer known as The Whisper Man. [Source: Deadline]

Sunny Dancer
Neil Patrick Harris, James Norton and “Baby Reindeer” breakthrough Jessica Gunning have been tapped to join the cast of “Black Dog” filmmaker George Jaques’ coming-of-age romance comedy “Sunny Dancer”. Filming is due to begin sometime in April.

The story follows Ivy (Bella Ramsey), a young girl in hard-earned remission forced to attend a summer camp for young people affected by cancer. Initially reluctant to attend, it turns into one of the best moments of her life with love, true friendship, and optimism and humor. Louis Partridge and Ruby Stokes co-star. [Source: Variety]

F— Valentine’s Day
Oscar winner Marisa Tomei and Virginia Gardner (“Marvel’s Runaways”) have scored the lead roles in the romantic comedy movie “F— Valentine’s Day”. Mark Gantt directs the project.

Tomei and Gardner are set to portray a mother-and-daughter duo, who will go on a birthday getaway in Greece. The daughter detests Valentine’s Day immensely and is determined to stop her boyfriend from popping the question. [Source: Deadline]

Old Pals
Henry Winkler, Brian Cox, Emma Roberts and Evan Rachel Wood will star the in comedy film “Old Pals” directed by Emmy winner Wendey Stanzler (“Sex And The City”).

Based on a screenplay by Rick Cisario, the story follows widowers Ira (Winkler) and Jimmy (Cox), to very opposite people who are forced to become friends by their conspiring daughters (Roberts & Wood). Initial stubbornness gives way to a journey of unexpected friendship. [Source: Yahoo]
