‘Build the culture’ – Tyreek Hill’s stunning U-turn after Miami Dolphins teammates call out receiver’s exit demand
Tyreek Hill has completed a stunning about-face, declaring he wants to remain a Miami Dolphin. Hill sent the NFL rumour mill into overdrive when he declared he wanted out of Miami following a 32-20 defeat to the New York Jets to close out the regular season. Hill has done a complete U-turn on initially wanting to leave MiamiGetty “This is my first time I haven’t been in the playoffs,” Hill said. “I just got to do what’s best for me and my family. “If that’s here or wherever the case may be. I’m finna open that door for myself. As I’m opening the door, I’m out bro. “It was a great playing here but, at the end of the day, I got to do what’s best for my career. I’m too much of a competitor to be, you know, just out there.” When pressed whether his comments meant he wanted to depart the Dolphins, Hill confirmed before he walked off. However, Hill has now pulled the handbrake on his supposed desire to move on. Speaking on the Up and Adams show on Radio Row in New Orleans, Hill insisted he ‘don’t want to go nowhere.’ “I love (Miami), my family loves it,” Hill said. “It’s an amazing thing, man. We are really building something special in Miami. We made it to the playoffs the first two years. “Obviously, this year was hard. If guys continue to buy in, to what coach is building and the culture that he’s trying to build, it’s gonna be an amazing thing.” The Dolphins standout was not happy after missing the playoffs for the first timeGetty GettyHill knows he has some work to do to regain the trust of his Miami teammates[/caption] Despite Hill’s importance to the Dolphins and the star power he possesses, his teammates won’t forget his controversial comments any time soon. “I know the words that he said after our last game, I can’t excuse him for it,” Miami offensive tackle Terron Armstead exclusively told talkSPORT. “As a captain and as a leader, you can’t do it. “He has some mending to do with relationships and just getting that energy back to where it needs to be.” It appears the need to make it up to his Dolphins teammates is not lost on Hill as he confirmed on the show he would apologise to everyone.
