Women in Travel Retail+ reveals Toutes à l’école as its 2025 charity of the year

INTERNATIONAL. Women in Travel Retail+ (WiTR+) has chosen Toutes à l’école as its charity for this year, following a nomination by Payot International Sales Developer Priscilla Haibe de Walque.

Toutes à l’école provides quality education to 1,700 underprivileged girls in Cambodia, aiming to empower them as educated women who can contribute meaningfully to their communities.

The country is burdened by the aftermath of the Khmer Rouge genocide, and widespread poverty often forces girls to forgo schooling and take up labour in the rice fields.

In 2025, WiTR+ aims to raise €15,000 to renovate the dormitories housing 400 ‘post-baccalaureate’ girls, creating a healthier living environment to support their studies.

With a 100% pass rate, several Toutes à l’école students have gone on to pursue careers in medicine, engineering, law, agronomy and other fields.

The dormitories are crucial for many girls who live too far from Phnom Penh to afford accommodation. Currently, the spaces are damp and plagued by mould.

The funds raised by WiTR+ will be used to replaster the walls, apply anti-fungal paint and install dehumidifiers in every room.

Haibe de Walque commented: “I am so proud and thrilled that WiTR+ has voted for Toutes à l’école.

Toutes à l’école was founded in 2005 by French journalist Tina Kieffer

“I had the opportunity to visit the school in Phnom Penh several years ago, and was incredibly moved by the impact it has on these children’s lives.

“Inspired by this, I have been sponsoring a young girl through the association for the past five years. It has been a rewarding experience to see how this support has made a difference. I truly believe in the mission of Toutes à l’école and the vital work they are doing.”

WiTR+ Chair Sarah Branquinho said: “Clean rooms to sleep and study are something that we take for granted. I am absolutely delighted that WiTR+ is going to make such a fundamental difference to this cohort of girls, and to future students.

“Let’s all work together to make sure we hit the target and enable this transformation.” ✈
