When semen is spilled, blood will be too, Russian Orthodox priest says

Wars are God’s punishment for debauchery, Andrey Tkachev has argued

An archpriest of the Russian Orthodox Church has condemned extramarital sexual practices, which he linked to violence and armed conflicts.

During a sermon last Sunday, the recording of which Fr. Andrey Tkachev later shared online, he argued that those who condone abortions “have no right to happiness.” He compared the practice to the Biblical slaughter of infants by King Herod in his attempt to kill baby Jesus, describing it as murder out of convenience.

”Always, abortion facilitates debauchery,” Tkachev, whose YouTube channel is followed by 1.89 million subscribers, told the congregation. “Where there is debauchery today, blood will be spilled tomorrow in some way.”

Tkachev elaborated on his views, claiming that since semen is required for procreation, it “contains the entire human” and is similar to blood.

”So if semen is spilled, so will be blood,” he warned. “The only place where a man’s semen should go is his wife’s womb. Period.”

He stated that God is punishing Russians for their moral failings by allowing Ukraine to hit its cities with Western-donated weapons. He declared: “We will know no peace until we repent.”

Tkachev was born in the Ukrainian city of Lviv and in the past served as the head of the missionary department of the Kiev diocese. He is known for his fiery preaching style in Russia.

In his other public remarks, he has compared children’s beauty pageants to “a pedophile’s holiday” and proposed conducting raids on nightclubs to recruit “healthy, sexually mature stallions” for the military.
