Tyler Perry’s historical drama “The Six Triple Eight” has reportedly become his most-watched Netflix movie to date.

The $70 million-budgeted title has reportedly pulled in 52.4 million views over its first four weeks on the streamer, and reached the Top 10 in more than 85 countries – the widest reach of any film he’s made for the streamer.

Perry and Netflix entered into a multi-year first-look film deal in 2023 and has had four other films debut on the service – 2020’s “A Fall from Grace,” 2022’s “A Jazzman’s Blues” and “A Madea Homecoming”, and 2024’s “Mea Culpa”.

‘Jazzman’ remains the only one he’s done that has scored good reviews going by the aggregate sites, but “The Six Triple Eight” with its mixed reception isn’t too far behind and marks a welcome return after his 2024 Amazon film “Divorce in the Black” which scored a rare 0% on Rotten Tomatoes and an average rating of 3.0/10.

The streamer indicates that viewership of Perry’s four other Netflix films also increased by more than 45% since “The Six Triple Eight” began streaming on December 20th.

“The Six Triple Eight” follows the untold story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the only troop of Black women and women of color to serve in Europe during World War II. Kerry Washington, Ebony Obsidian, Susan Sarandon, Dean Norris, Sam Waterston and Oprah Winfrey co-star.
