Dedicated camera hardware buttons on smartphones aren’t anything new – in fact, way before Apple hyped up the feature for the iPhone 16, companies such as Sony have long been equipping camera buttons on their smartphones, and even much older devices such as Nokia’s Lumia line came with the feature on select models.
With that in mind, it looks like another company will be adopting the feature for an upcoming smartphone – posting on its official social media pages, Carl Pei’s Nothing brand teased a photo of the upcoming Phone (3a) which seems to show a camera button in addition to a power button. The image isn’t too clear however, although this seems to be the most logical explanation for the teaser.
Originally thought to be a flagship device, the Nothing Phone (3a) is scheduled for launch on March 4th. Leaked company emails from Nothing boss Carl Pei mentioned a flagship phone which was supposedly planned for a Q1 launch. Originally shared by tech informant Evan Blass (via his social media page), the leak shows a screenshot of an internal email from Nothing boss Carl Pei himself, which mentions the launch of the Nothing Phone (3) within the year.
