Terry Bradshaw stuns NFL fans by revealing exact date he plans to retire from FOX days before Super Bowl
The Hall of Famer’s days are numbered. Terry Bradshaw revealed on Thursday when he plans on walking away from the network that he has spent the better part of three decades with. Bradshaw has been synonymous with FOX’s NFL coverage since the early 90’sGetty “I told my wife before I left the room a while ago,” Bradshaw said at a FOX Sports press conference in New Orleans before Super Bowl LIX. “I was sitting there and I got two years left at FOX. I’m 76. It’s a young man’s game, I get that. Everybody wants the new thing. “So I said if we can get to the next Super Bowl, I’ll be 80. “I think that’s time and that’s 80 years old and that’s pushing it.” FOX has the broadcasting rights to Super Bowl LIX, and won’t have it again, as Bradshaw mentioned, until 2029 for Super Bowl LXIII. That is when he plans to ride off into the sunset. Bradshaw says he has two years remaining on his contract, so he would need to be resigned and extended for two more years if he is hoping to reach his goal. The Steelers legend has been with FOX since 1994 (and CBS before that), as an analyst and co-host of the popular FOX NFL Sunday show. He has captured the hearts of America over the course of the last three decades through his charming and quirky personality and humor. It has long been a revolving door at FOX, but Bradshaw has remained the same. Bradshaw has been the face of FOX NFL Sunday for over three decadesGetty And for good reason. While not disclosed publicly, it has been reported that Bradshaw’s annual salary with FOX comes in around $2 million. Not bad for a guy in his mid-70’s. It’s no surprise why he is trying to hold on for four more years. In all likelihood, FOX and Bradshaw will come to an agreement on an extension so he can finish his career at Super Bowl LXIII. However, it is not a guarantee, and the iconic former QB is already making his plans.
