Spider-Verse Vs. Venomverse: A Multiversal Showdown For The Ages

The Marvel Universe is no stranger to epic battles, but this April, a clash is set to redefine the multiverse. In Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse, web-slingers and symbiote hosts collide in a five-issue series that promises to leave fans on the edge of their seats.

Over the past few years, the Spider-Verse and Venomverse have expanded with thrilling new characters and stories, thanks to blockbuster series like Edge of Spider-Verse and Venomverse Reborn.

The event is helmed by writers Mat Groom and Kyle Higgins, with artwork by the acclaimed Luciano Vecchio. The series will spin out of two March and April one-shots: Web of Spider-Verse: New Blood and Web of Venomverse: Fresh Brains. These lead-ins will introduce major players and set the stage for the reality-shattering battles ahead.

Vecchio, who’s also handling character designs for the lead-ins, is crafting intricate new looks for characters that fans will undoubtedly celebrate. “Luciano’s superpower is building complex tapestries of intertwined characters and worlds,” Groom noted. “Readers will get an early taste of that in New Blood and Fresh Brains.”

At the heart of Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse is a battle for survival. The armies amassed include iconic characters like Spider-Man and Venom, along with fan favorites and newcomers from recent stories. Among the newcomers are Spider-Prowler and the mysterious symbiote Yaleo, who promise to play pivotal roles in the war.

“When Dan Slott and Olivier Coipel launched the Spider-Verse in 2014, it transformed the Spider-Man mythos and completely took over the world,” Groom explained. “Since then, creators like Donny Cates, Al Ewing, and Ram V have transformed the Venom mythos in equally transformative ways. Crashing these worlds together is a genuine honor and privilege.”
