Rilo Kiley announce first tour in 17 years & ‘The Execution of All Things’ reissue

After announcing festival appearances at Just Like Heaven and Kilby Block Party, Rilo Kiley have now announced a headline tour which will be their first in 17 years. (They teased it last week.) Dates kick off May 5 in San Luis Obispo and include Ojai, Phoenix, CO’s Red Rocks (with Julien Baker & TORRES), Boise (Treefort Music Fest), Jackson (WY), Vancouver, and Portland.
“It’s going to be wonderful for us, like going back to the purest version of yourself, that early ’20s place where everything is possible,” says Jenny Lewis. “You’re in a van and Jason’s got the map, Pierre is behind the wheel, and I’m on the shitty acoustic guitar on the bench seat working out a new song with Blake. I don’t think it’s ever been as good as that, when it was just us against the world.”
Tickets for all headline shows go on sale Friday, February 7 at 10 AM local time. No word on shows in the rest of the US and Canada, but it seems like they’re coming. All dates are listed below.
In other news, Rilo Kiley are also giving their 2002 second album, The Execution of All Things, a deluxe reissue on April 25 via Saddle Creek. The reissue has been subtitled Frozen Lake Edition and comes in a die-cut gatefold sleeve with an 18″x24″ poster. There’s a Deluxe Edition on cloudy transparent and cream vinyl (limited to 3000 copies) that comes with a bonus 7″ that includes three extra tracks; there’s also the non deluxe edition on cloudy clear vinyl.
