Revolution and Zenith Unveil the Chronomaster Revival A3818 “Cover Girl Carbon”
Reuniting with Zenith for a third collaboration, Revolution has unveiled the Chronomaster Revival A3818 "Cover Girl Carbon.” Available in three versions, this collaborative reference is touted by Revolution as “the world's lightest chronograph watch” to date — weighing just 55 grams on the carbon fiber velcro strap and 59 grams on the carbon fiber bracelet.Outfitted in a tonneau-shaped case, the new timepiece is based on the A3818 model from the ‘70s, which earned its “Cover Girl” nickname after it was featured on the cover of Manfred Rossler's book, ZENITH: Swiss Watch Manufacture Since 1865. Now fully reimagined and completely reworked using high-modulus forged carbon fiber, the 37mm case, dial, pushers and crown of the "Cover Girl Carbon” all showcase unique striations in a grayscale color scheme — with one exception being the thin movement container crafted from PVD-treated titanium.Like all Zenith watches, this model runs on the Maison’s pride and joy, the El Primero movement. Featuring a column wheel for its laterally coupled clutch and an astounding hourly vibration speed of 36,000 vph. In the dark, the Super-LumiNova markers and hands, integrated tachymeter and pulsometer scale, vintage-inspired “shark tooth” racing scale as well as the subdial markings create a menacing yet functional presence.The Zenith x Revolution Chronomaster Revival A3818 "Cover Girl Carbon" will be available for general sale on February 7 at 8 p.m. SGT/ 4 a.m. PT via Revolution’s online shop. Prices range from $12,320 - $27,210 USD, each variant is produced in limited quantities. The standard dial on carbon fiber-effect velcro strap is limited to 150 units, while only 10 examples are available for the ladder-style carbon fiber bracelet variant.
