Indianapolis is reportedly hiring Lou Anarumo as the team’s latest defensive coordinator, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Monday.

Indianapolis is reportedly hiring Lou Anarumo as the team’s new defensive coordinator, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Monday.
Anarumo lands with the Colts after he was let go by the Cincinnati Bengals following a six-year stint as their defensive coordinator.
Despite being the Bengals’ defensive leader since 2019 and part of a Super Bowl run in 2022, their defence struggled in his final season at the helm. Cincinnati ranked 25th in total defence and 30th in the red zone. The Bengals gave up 25.5 points per game in 2024-25 (eighth-most) and their 30 passing touchdowns allowed was the fourth most.
He’ll step in for Gus Bradley who Indianapolis moved on from after three seasons. The Colts defence didn’t fair much better than the Bengals, they ranked 29th overall and allowed the ninth-most points per game. Indianapolis struggled especially on third down, allowing a 44.4 per cent conversion rate (third-highest).
