Pfaff confirms 2025 full-time IMSA lineup; Hinchcliffe for endurance races

Pfaff Motorsports has set its drivers for the 2025 IMSA season, the Canadian team’s first GTD PRO campaign with Lamborghini.

Lamborghini Squadra Corse drivers Andrea Caldarelli and Marco Mapelli will race for the full season in GTD, with James Hinchcliffe returning as Pfaff’s Michelin Endurance Cup driver. Jordan Pepper completes the line-up of the No.9 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 at the Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Caldarelli and Mapelli had previously paired together in GT World Challenge, becoming the first and only drivers to win the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint, Endurance, and overall titles in the same calendar year in 2019 – the so-called ‘SRO Triple Crown’.

“I am very excited to be part of this program for the full season in IMSA,” remarked Caldarelli. “It will be a challenge for all of us, as it is the first year for Pfaff Motorsports with Lamborghini, but we will try to speed up the process as much as possible to be competitive.

“Sharing the car with Marco for the full season is amazing; we have a great friendship and IMSA was always on our bucket list. Jordan will be with us in Daytona, and has been my teammate in many championships – and we both know how much we want to win Daytona together. I’m also happy to be sharing the car with James for the long races. He has had an amazing career, and is a great team player – that’s what I really look forward to, as it is a crucial part of endurance racing. The target is very clear for all of us in 2025: we will push hard from day one.”

Caldarelli comes over after spending 2024 with the Lamborghini Iron Lynx SC63 program in its debut Michelin Endurance Cup campaign. He posted the fastest GTD PRO time during the Roar Before The 24 tests, with Mapelli recording the third-fastest time of all drivers.

“Joining Pfaff Motorsports for the IMSA season and driving the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2, it’s a fantastic opportunity, and one that I’m very proud of,” added Mapelli. “Pfaff is a proper team with an absolute reputation and incredible dedication. It’ll be a great challenge together with Lamborghini Squadra Corse support. I can’t wait to work with Andrea, James, Jordan and this great group of people.”

Hinchcliffe, who recently was confirmed as part of FOX Sports’ team of IndyCar series broadcasters, drove the previous Pfaff McLaren 720S GT3 at Daytona, Sebring, and Petit Le Mans.

“It’s awesome to be back with Pfaff for the enduros this year. Daytona is such a fun way to kick off the 2025 season, and I think the whole group is excited to get back there,” said the Canadian. “Obviously, we are tackling a big task having to learn new car, but if there is a group that has proved they can handle that challenge it’s this one. I’ll be leaning a lot on Andrea, Marco, and Jordan to get me up to speed with the Lamborghini, but having raced against it last year, I know it’s a great car and should put us in contention to win the race.”
