One UI 7 will make battery power saving less aggressive

One area of One UI 7 that has frustrated users is the aggressive nature of its battery power-saving mode. Specifically, when your phone’s battery drops to 5%, the display brightness is automatically reduced to almost zero, making it nearly impossible to see anything on the screen.
This extreme measure undoubtedly helps conserve battery life. However, it often renders the phone unusable at a time when you might need it most. This includes sending an urgent messag or making a call for help.
Thankfully, Samsung is addressing this issue in the upcoming One UI 7 update. According to SamMobile, the latest beta of One UI 7 introduces the ability to disable automatic screen dimming when the battery is critically low. This change gives users more control over their device. It also allows them to decide whether they prioritize battery conservation or screen visibility.
Of course, disabling this feature comes with a trade-off. Display brightness is one of the biggest contributors to battery drain, so keeping the screen bright at low battery levels could lead to faster power depletion. However, for many users, the ability to actually use their phone in critical moments outweighs the risk of a slightly quicker shutdown.
Currently, the One UI 7 beta is available for the Galaxy S25 and S24 series, with a wider rollout expected later this month. This update isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but it is a significant step toward making Samsung’s software more flexible and user-centric.
