Netflix Is Raising Its U.S. Prices Yet Again

Netflix is reportedly increasing its subscription prices in the U.S. and other markets yet again, including the first price hike for its ad-supported plan.

The streamer announced its Q4 2024 earnings results Tuesday, with the company taking in its biggest-ever quarterly increase in subscribers – gaining 18.91 million new ones for the period.

That’s way above the 5.1 million added last quarter and the 13.1 million added in the fourth quarter of 2023. Buoyed by successes like “Squid Game” Season 2, “Carry-On” and Christmas Day NFL, the company is now reaching 301.63 million subscribers globally.

Netflix’s 2025 outlook for revenue looks to be between $43.5-44.5 billion. Along with that news came news of the new pricing as follows:

Standard (with ads): $7.99 per month (up from $6.99)
Standard (without ads): $17.99 per month (up from $15.49)
Premium (without ads): $24.99 per month (up from $22.99)
Extra Member: $8.99 per month (up from $7.99)

Netflix also announced an ‘Extra Member With Ads’ offering. The price adjustments apply to the U.S., Canada, Portugal, and Argentina.

The last major U.S. price hike was in October 2023, and the last time the Standard plan saw a price rise was in January 2022.
