‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ trailer reignites the dinosaur franchise fandom: “We are so back”

The trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth has been released online, and fans are getting seriously excited about it.

The film stars Scarlett Johansson, Wicked and Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey and Moonlight Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali as a new team sent on a mission to the island research facility for the original Jurassic Park.

The trailer introduces the new characters, who are sent to the island in order to extract DNA samples from the biggest dinosaurs on Earth to aid a potential medical breakthrough. It includes a look at some brand new dinosaurs, too – ones considered too dangerous for the original park.

Rebirth is directed by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and The Creator’s Gareth Edwards, with the script penned by original Jurassic Park writer David Koepp.

It marks the start of a new era for the action movie series, coming after the Jurassic World trilogy starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. That trilogy culminated with Jurassic World Dominion, which was critically panned, with some calling it the “worst of the franchise”.

Despite the negative reaction to the previous Jurassic film leaving the future of the franchise in question at the time, fans online appear extremely excited about Rebirth.

One X user wrote: “WE ARE SO BACK GANG. This is the Jurassic I have been hungry to see and it looks absolutely incredible. A real, living ecosystem mixed with an intriguing lab where nightmares were created. JULY CAN’T ARRIVE QUICK ENOUGH.”

Another posted: “Switching to Gareth Edwards and choosing a more grounded survival tone is the best decision these Jurassic World films could’ve made. As someone who couldn’t stand the last two, I’m extremely excited.”

Others praised the new cast specifically. @zoerosebryant wrote: “the new jurassic world trailer heavily supports my belief that jonathan bailey should be the biggest movie star in the world.”

Another said: “Mahershala Ali back on the big screen is really something beautiful man. It’s been too long”
