The New York Islanders could be without their most important defenceman for a significant amount of time.
The New York Islanders could be without their most important defenceman for a significant amount of time.
Noah Dobson suffered an injury early in the third period of Monday’s win over the Columbus Blue Jackets and was forced to leave the game.
Dobson was hurt in a collision along the boards with Cole Sillinger, and his right leg seemed to bend at an awkward angle.
Head coach Patrick Roy did not have an update on Dobson’s condition after the game.
The 25-year-old is coming off a 70-point season and while he hasn’t matched that production this year, he has still been an important player for the Islanders. Dobson has six goals and 24 points in 46 games this season and leads the Islanders with 24:12 ice time per game.
