WWE Hall of Famer Foley has shared news of his weight loss journeyWWE The WWE legend decided last year that he wanted to shed around 80 pounds so he could step back into the ring for a special bout on his 60th birthday. “I weighed in at 360 pounds and I was looking to get down to 280 by June 7 to do a death match,” Foley, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013, told fans. “Unfortunately, training a little bit in the ring, I got a slight concussion. And I thought, if I got a concussion from the little bit that I did, then what I planned to do in this death match would likely kill me.” With any plans for that match nixed, Foley admitted that had been ‘packing on the pounds’ because no matter how much weight he gained, he still felt in better condition than he did after performing in the ring. He revealed that he was in serious danger of hitting 400 pounds and decided to take action after realising how much he struggled to work out after catching Covid. “Even as I started to gain weight, and I was probably about 310 pounds when I got Covid, I could still do like 40 push-ups. After I got Covid, I could do three,” he said. “I kept waiting, working on them. After a month, I could do five. It was like, ‘What happened?’ It was really scary for me.” Aiming to get down to 280 pounds for his 60th birthday, Foley weighed in at 360 pounds in March 2024. Now, 10 months on, he is rejuvenated, weighing in at 279.9 pounds in January 2025. “Five months early!
