Harry Kane sends message to Tottenham fans after playing role in Mathys Tel transfer

Mathys Tel has revealed Harry Kane’s role in his transfer U-turn to join Tottenham on Deadline Day. Tel revealed that he had spoken with the former Tottenham star and his ex-Bayern Munich teammate before making the move to north London. Tel has joined Tottenham on loan from Bayern Munich Speaking on a clip shared on social media, Tel said: “He told me it’s a big club with a lot of very good people. “The pitch is very nice and the training centre is very good, and if you go there you can enjoy it. Everything was positive from Harry Kane!” Tel said. Further to this, interacting with fans on the Cleats Club app, Kane responded to a fan asking his view on the move. Kane responded saying that it was a ‘great move for both parties’ after the 19-year-old was announced as a loan signing by Tottenham yesterday. “Mathys is a great guy, really hard-working, full of potential so it’ll be important for him to get some minutes under his belt and some regular game time to develop and keep improving to fulfil all the potential that he has. “It’s great for Tottenham to have a young, hungry player with loads of talent to hopefully score some goals and push Tottenham as far as possible. “I’m wishing him all the best and hope he has a fantastic time there, I’m sure he will,” Kane said. Tel signed on a loan deal with Tottenham despite initially turning them down after Daniel Levy flew to Germany to hold talks. The London side have the option to buy the France international in the summer for £50million amidst plenty of interest from rival Premier League sides. Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal were all thrown in the mix for the 19-year-old, but it was Ange Postecoglou’s side who won the battle for the young talent. Tel rejected Kane’s boyhood club Tottenham before u-turning on his decisionGetty Tel joined Bayern Munich in 2022 from Rennes and was subsequently described as “one of the biggest talents in Europe” by Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. The arrival of former Spurs skipper Kane to Bayern meant that Tel was playing second-fiddle the the England international, or occasionally would play on the wing rather than his preferred striker role. Tel has scored 16 goals and assisted seven across all competitions in 83 games for Bayern, including scoring twice in the Champions League. At international level he has represented France at under-17, 18, 19 and 21 levels, though is yet to debut with the senior team. The Tottenham side Tel joins appear to be turning a corner on a dismal run of form which sees them in 14th in the Premier League. However, despite this poor form they enter Thursday’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg at Anfield with a 1-0 lead behind them. Postecoglou’s side also remain fighting in the Europa League and FA Cup, but they will want to turn their fate around in the top-flight.
