“Grand Theft Auto 6” Still Aiming For This Fall

Take-Two Interactive, announcing its quarterly earnings results for October to December 2024, has once again stated that “Grand Theft Auto 6” is still on track for its previously announced Fall 2025 release window.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick told investors: “We’ve announced a pretty narrow window. So I think our view is that right now, that’s fine. Then when it’s appropriate, of course, Rockstar is going to have more to say.”

One thing that has shifted though is “Borderlands 4” with that game now set to release in calendar 2025, not in fiscal year 2026 (Apr ’25-Mar ’26) as previously reported.

As for when specifically, he says: “You will have a date soon, and then all will become clear.” Take-Two now has three major AAA titles due before year’s end, including GTA 6 in the Fall, “Mafia: The Old Country” in the Summer and “Borderlands 4” at some point.

Zelnick says this year is the company’s “most extraordinarily exciting release schedule I think we’ve ever had” as it includes not just those three titles but their “annualized titles”, Zynga titles, various 2K sequels and more.

Next for Take-Two if “Sid Meier’s Civilization VII” which releases next week and is expected to perform very well. He indicates the wishlist for the game is “2 million bigger than we’ve ever had before”.
