Google has removed all older Pixel 4a updates

Google recently released a surprise update for the Pixel 4a smartphone. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a very good surprise. If anything, it was a terrible surprise as many Pixel 4a owners were left with poor battery life. If you were hoping to roll back to an older build, Google has removed all older Pixel 4a updates.

According to a report from 9to5Google, they have noticed that all the Factory Images or Full OTA Images for the Pixel 4a have been removed. The only update that’s left is the most recent update, the one that has been causing all these battery-related issues. This will prevent users from rolling back to an older update.

When Google released the recent update, the company claimed that this update would improve the stability of the battery in the Pixel 4a phones. However, Google also noted that this could have a negative impact on overall battery life. In some cases, some users are reporting that battery life is so bad that their phones only last for a couple of hours.

This has led to calls for a lawsuit against Google which seemingly rendered the Pixel 4a useless with this update. It is unclear why Google is so adamant about keeping this update. It is possible that there could be some kind hardware issue the company is trying to keep hush with the update. However, the lack of transparency is worrying.

In the meantime, Google has offered some solutions. Those who wish to keep their Pixel 4a phones can get a free battery replacement. Alternatively, they can get $50 in payment or $100 in credit. This credit can be used to purchase another Pixel phone from the Google Store.
