Samsung Galaxy Unpacked just happened, and it was packed with the usual goodies one would expect. We saw information about the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, at the very end of the event, Samsung also gave us a look (a very brief look) at the Galaxy S25 Edge.

By the way, if you pre-order your Galaxy S25 through the links provided above, you’ll receive a $50 discount for your order, so don’t hesitate! Pre-orders start today!

We’ve known about the Galaxy S25 Edge for a while, but we knew it as the “Galaxy S25 Slim”. While just about every other detail about its upcoming phones got out, Samsung was able to keep the name close to its chest.

Samsung gave us a sneak peek at the Galaxy S25 Edge

We all know that this device will go up against the supposed iPhone 17 Slim (or iPhone 17 Air). It’ll be a slimmer phone…. and that’s pretty much all we know. Samsung didn’t give us any solid information about this device other than a pretty harsh teaser. It tacked it on at the very end of the Unpacked event.

We saw a computer animated showcase of the device’s components, and we saw them shrink as the video went on. After that, we got a side-profile of the device. Other than that, we didn’t get anything else.

What’s interesting is the company’s use of the name “Edge”. If you remember, this is the moniker that it used for its curved-screen devices back before it made that trait standard across its phones. Since this name is associated with curved screens, we’re all wondering if Samsung will bring this design back.

We’ve seen the curve on the Galaxy S/Note series diminish over the years. At the end, the curves weren’t the absolute waterfalls like we saw on the Galaxy S6 Edge. If Samsung does bring back the curved edges, we expect them to be pretty subtle.

However, this is only speculation. Samsung could just be using the Edge name to refer to the device’s thinness. Motorola has its Edge series of phones, but they’ve been devoid of an edge for a few years.

In any case, we’ll learn more about this device as the year goes on. It was disappointing how little information the company gave us, but it just gives us more to look forward to.
