In addition to a pop-up campaign and local market activations, Ferrero Travel Market has taken over The Moodie Davitt Report homepage and mobile website with a colourful Nutella theme

Today (5 February) is World Nutella Day and Ferrero Travel Market is celebrating the occasion with a joyfully vibrant makeover of The Moodie Davitt Report desktop homepage, along with an elegantly curated treatment of our mobile website.

The confectionery house has also launched a dedicated website takeover of ferrerotravelmarket.com

At Luxembourg Airport, a key travel retail location for the brand, in-store promotions further amplify the celebration. Travellers are encouraged to join the festivities and share their Nutella moments on social media using the hashtags #WorldNutellaDay and #spreadanutellasmile.

In addition, Nutella is rolling out multi-channel celebrations in local markets worldwide, inviting fans to engage and share their love for the brand.

World Nutella Day unites fans around the world in their shared love for the famed hazelnut and cocoa spread. Created by fans, the celebration reflects Nutella’s mission to spread positivity, share joy and celebrate the growing Nutella family.

Ferrero Travel Market General Manager Sergio Salvagno commented: “World Nutella Day is a truly global celebration for a beloved brand, and we are thrilled to share in the excitement with our valued travel retail partners.

“We know that this beloved brand resonates deeply with travellers seeking a taste of home – or a unique souvenir – and its success in the channel highlights the potential of the food category, beyond confectionery. We look forward to spreading the joy of Nutella, and generating many more smiles, not just today, but throughout 2025 and beyond.”

Looking ahead, Ferrero Travel Market has previewed plans for new product launches dedicated to travel retail.

A history of innovation

From the original Pasta Gianduja in 1946, Ferrero has created many variations of its signature Nutella hazelnut spread over the decades

Dating back to 1946 when Ferrero Founder Pietro Ferrero developed ‘Pasta Gianduja’, Nutella has grown to become a globally renowned brand with a presence across 170 countries. From its origins as a hazelnut and cocoa spread, Nutella has continually innovated, introducing new formats such as biscuits, snacks, baked goods and ice cream.

The celebration of World Nutella Day traces back to 2007 when fan Sara Rosso first established the event. Over the years, it has grown to honour Nutella’s evolving range of offerings, including the introduction last year of a plant-based version. ✈
