The first trailer for Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” launched on Tuesday and has reportedly pulled in 202 million viewers in its first 24 hours across all platforms.

That’s one of the best starts for a Marvel Studios‘ title, though is slightly behind the records made by “Deadpool & Wolverine” debuting during the Super Bowl last year.

The four key cast of Pedro Pascal, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Joseph Quinn and Vanessa Kirby were on hand at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama to help unveil a first look at the film.

The trailer launch drew the most views ever for a Marvel YouTube live-stream and became the No. 1 trending video on YouTube at one point. It also was a top trending film on X, higher than any Marvel trailer outside of “Deadpool & Wolverine”.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, the film introduces Marvel’s First Family – Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) – as they face their most daunting challenge yet.

Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.

A cut down version of the trailer is expected to air during the Super Bowl on Sunday, while the new trailer will likely be attached to copies of Marvel’s “Captain America: Brave New World” which opens in cinemas next Friday.

“The Fantastic Four: The First Steps” is slated to hit cinemas in July.
