CBGB inspired new Nike Dunk Low sneaker
The leaked images of the CBGB Nike Dunk Low have “Bleecker” misspelled on the inside tongue of the left shoe
Legendary, infamous NYC punk club CBGB is the inspiration for a new Nike sneaker. As Complex reports, images of the new sneaker were leaked by X user @Brandon1an. It’s part of the Dunk Low line which first debuted back in 1985, and the most noticeable nod to CBGB is how “NIKE” is written both on the sneaker’s tongue and on the back of the shoe in the club’s distinctive red serif font logo.
The inside of the tongues have the location: a misspelled “Bleeker” (it’s “Bleecker”) on the left shoe and “Bowery” on the right. The insoles, meanwhile, pay homage to the sticker-covered walls. Thankfully, nothing specific seems to represent the club’s iconic bathrooms.
There’s been no official announcement of these shoes from Nike, who are hopefully correctly that spelling error. Stay tuned for an official release announcement, and check out a few pics of the shoes below.
CBGB closed in 2006 and is now home to a John Varvatos store.
