Budapest Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, confirms that Jet2.com will expand its operations from October, introducing twice-weekly services to Newcastle and East Midlands. These additions complement the airline’s existing routes to Manchester, Birmingham, and Leeds Bradford, further strengthening the direct air connectivity between Hungary and the UK.

The East Midlands route will see competition from Ryanair’s existing twice-weekly service, while Newcastle marks a brand-new connection following Jet2.com’s successful seasonal trials last winter. Operating between October and April, the Newcastle route will cater to growing demand from UK travellers.

Máté Ritter, Head of Airline Development at Budapest Airport, commented: “We are delighted to see Jet2.com expand its portfolio in Budapest. The addition of Newcastle and East Midlands not only enhances connectivity but also supports our strategy to diversify our business mix and attract premium travellers from the UK. This expansion reflects the growing appeal of Budapest as a year-round destination, and we look forward to welcoming more visitors from the UK.”
