Billy Joel playing Citi Field with Sting

Having closed out his record-breaking Madison Square Garden residency back in July, Billy Joel has been announcing shows at NYC-area stadiums. He’ll play East Rutherford, NJ’s MetLife Stadium on August 8 with Stevie Nicks, and the Bronx’s Yankee Stadium on July 18, with Rod Stewart. To go with the Yankee Stadium show, he’s announced a show with Sting a little over a month later, at Queens’ Citi Field on August 21. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 14 at 10 AM EST, with various presales starting Monday, February 10 at 10 AM EST.

“Throughout Mets history, there’s always been a special connection with Billy Joel and the Mets,” Mets VP of Events Nikki Romolo says. “From closing Shea Stadium with the two final concerts in 2008, performing the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ before the 2015 World Series, to ‘Piano Man’ echoing throughout Citi Field regularly during games. We’re looking forward to welcoming this native New Yorker home for his first concert at Citi Field.”
