Bandcamp announces LA wildfire fundraiser

Bandcamp has announced a fundrasier for Los Angeles wildfire relief. Bandcamp <3 Los Angeles runs from midnight to midnight PST on Friday, February 7, when the site will donate 100% of its proceeds to MusiCares. They’ve partnered with American Association of Independent Music (A2IM), Harman, Lagunitas, Roland, Shure, Victrola, and Worldwide Independent Network (WIN) for this campaign, and you can read more about it here.

They’ve also launched a wildfire relief t-shirt, designed by Shepard Fairey, that’s available for pre-order now. It’s a limited edition of 2500, and Bandcamp will donate 100% of its proceeds from it to MusiCares, as well.

One thing you might consider picking up: compilation Good Music to Lift Los Angeles which features unreleased tracks by R.E.M., Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service, Jeff Tweedy, The War on Drugs, My Morning Jacket, Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, Interpol, Cassandra Jenkins, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Courtney Barnett, MJ Lenderman, Ty Segall, Animal Collective, The Hold Steady, TV on the Radio, Modest Mouse, and more.

Bandcamp will also continue its ongoing Bandcamp Friday fundraiser, where the site waives its cut of profits on the first Friday of select months, this year. Eligible Fridays for 2025 are March 7th, May 2nd, August 1st, September 5th, October 3rd, and December 5th.
