Apple Struggles in China with an 18.2% YoY Sales Drop in Q4 2024 [Report]
Apple's smartphone sales declined by 18.2% year-over-year in China for Q4 2024, according to a new report from Counterpoint. The company ranked third for the quarter, behind Huawei and Xiaomi."The country's smartphone market saw a rebound in the first three quarters of the year, with positive YoY growth each quarter," said Associate Director Ethan Qi. "However, momentum began to slow in Q4 as consumers adopted cautious spending behavior."Senior Research Analyst Mengmeng Zhang noted that this is the first time since the US ban that Huawei has reached the top position. "In Q4 2024, Huawei climbed to the top spot with an 18.1% share. This is the first time since the US ban that Huawei regained the leading position.
