Annihilus Set To Appear On More Than Just Nova Series For Marvel | Barside Buzz

According to the Barside Buzz Annihilus is due to appear as a villain in more than just the Nova Disney+ series. In case you’ve not been following along, it has been rumored Annihilus is the main villain of the in-development Nova series. Now Daniel RPK on Patreon is saying he’s heard Nova will not be a one and done appearance. 

So Annihilus set to show up for more projects down the line in the MCU? To be fair, whether this rumor is true, or not, I’m sure this would be what most fans expect. Annihilus has too much potential to just be villain of the day in the Nova series. For me it makes sense that the Mutant Saga will have more than one Big Bad. Therefore, I could see Annihilus taking the cosmic villain spot. Especially, I’ll guess fans want to see him face off against the Fantastic Four at least. However, we will need to wait and see if and when Annihilus shows up. Nova is not yet even greenlit, but we know it’s in development.

There are rumors of a template Marvel sent to writers looking for them to pitch a series. This one is from MTTSH and I don’t cover her any longer and won’t until her hit rate goes up. However, since we are talking Nova, might as well share it.

Here are some Nova details:
Marvel reached out to writers and asked them to pitch for Nova tv show with Annihilus as the main villain in mind. They also requested the story to feel "young and sexy," capturing the energy of 80s military movies.

Here’s what she claims that pitch was.

“One pitch was essentially Starship Troopers, with Richard Rider in Casper’s arc as a sort of cocky jerk who falls in love with Namorita, joins the Nova Corps, and gets assigned to a backwater “Outer Rim”-like planet that becomes the first phase of the Annihilus wave. In the pitch they treated the Annihilation Wave like the bugs in Starship Troopers, really leaning into the theme of how the Nova Corps uses propaganda to police the galaxy and recruit members.”

We may never know if this was true? It’s too easy to say they went with another pitch. Still, just in case, here it is. 

Far as the main rumor of this article goes, we can’t say if that is true either. However, it does make a lot of sense. I do think Marvel would be crazy not to use Annihilus eventually.
