23-Car Entry List for Bathurst 12H Revealed
Field for IGTC opener down by seven cars compared to 2024 race, but number of GT3s remains unchanged...
A 23-car entry list for the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour, the opening round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge season, has been revealed.
The field represents a decrease of seven cars compared to last year’s running of the Mount Panorama event, as well as the smallest field since 2022.
However, the number of GT3 cars remains unchanged compared to the 2024 Bathurst 12H at 19, joined by a trio of GT4 cars and a single Invitational entry.
The contingent of 19 GT3 cars is divided into nine cars gunning for overall honors in the Pro class, three each in Pro-Am and Silver Cup and four Bronze Cup entries.
A total of nine different manufacturers are represented, with Mercedes-AMG having by far the best representation with nine cars, eight GT3s and a single GT4 for Nineteen Motorsport that will face the two Method Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4s.
Audi is next up with three cars, followed by BMW, Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren each with two, and single cars each for Lamborghini, Aston Martin and KTM, which has the sole Invitational entry, an X-Bow GT2 for Vantage Racing.
While the entry list contains few previously unannounced drivers, it does reveal the lineups for Mercedes-AMG squads Craft-Bamboo Racing and GruppeM.
Maximilian Goetz, Lucas Auer and Jayden Ojeda will pilot the No. 77 Craft-Bamboo entry, while new factory recruit Maxime Martin joins Maro Engel and Mikael Grenier aboard the No. 888 car, entered under the Team GMR banner.
There is an additional Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo in the Bronze class for 111 Racing, for Darren Currie, Grant Donaldson and a third driver yet to be named.
Bathurst 12H event director Shane Rudzis said: “Amidst a congested global calendar, we have maintained the same number of GT3 entries as last year while adding two returning manufacturers to broaden the variety within the field.
“The depth of the field and the talent within is outstanding and there’s no doubt it’s going to provide another spectacular race.
“Interest for the race is high with a record number of campgrounds set to be filled, the grandstand is sold out and ticket sales are really motoring along, which is hugely exciting for all involved.
“We’re working closely with our partners at the Bathurst Regional Council and with the team at Meguiar’s to make this the best Bathurst 12 Hour yet.
“The eyes of the world will be on Mount Panorama, Bathurst next week as we launch into another chapter of Australia’s International Enduro.”
Practice for the Bathurst 12H begins on Friday Jan. 31, with qualifying, culminating with the 15-minute Pirelli Pole Battle, slated for Saturday Feb. 1.
The race is scheduled to begin on Sunday Feb. 2 at 5:45 a.m. local time (Saturday 1:45 p.m. EST).
