Uma Thurman & Damson Idris Marvel Rumors

Another weekend, another round of Marvel rumors though this time it’s fairly interesting. Scooper MyTimeToShineH has reported that none other than Uma Thurman has had talks with Marvel Studios for an MCU role.

No further specifics have been given but with two new “Avengers” films filled with multiple variants, not to mention more Disney+ series, it could be for any of quite a few characters.

Thurman has tackled comic book movies before with 1997’s “Batman & Robin,” though didn’t have much luck in that role. She was more recently seen in Paul Schrader’s “Oh Canada” and played the U.S. President in Amazon’s hit 2023 gay romantic dramedy film “Red, White & Royal Blue”.

Meanwhile one name that could’ve been in contention for a very specific Marvel role, “Snowfall” actor Damson Idris, has seemingly ruled himself out.

The actor responded on X to a user claiming Idris turned down the role of the new T’Challa/Black Panther in the MCU. Idris’ reply jokingly said that he’s turned down Black Panther, James Bond, and co-starring in films with Daniel Day Lewis and Eddie Murphy followed by the Upside-Down Face emoji.

The actor has never actually been rumored for the T’Challa role, but was in contention for the John Stewart role in HBO’s “Lanterns” series which “Rebel Ridge” star Aaron Pierre eventually won.
