The Negeri Sembilan Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) is advising road users to be extra cautious at two crosswind spots on the PLUS North-South Highway, Bernama reports.
The locations are from KM 222 of the Melaka border until Hentian Senawang and KM 267 Ainsdale up to Seri Putera, said fire safety division assistant director, Senior Fire Officer II Mohamed Faiz Muin Mohamed Rasidi.
“Both these locations are accident hotspots due to, among others, the crosswinds and negligence on the part of road users. As such, motorists must always be cautious and alert while driving, particularly during the festive season as more vehicles will be on the road,” he said.
Mohamed Faiz Muin added that 150 personnel and 26 vehicles as well as three Emergency Medical Rescue Services vans will be on standby throughout the January 28-February 2 Op Siaga Raya, in conjunction with Chinese New Year.
One of the vehicles will be stationed at the Pedas Toll while the state Bomba’s Rapid Intervention Motorcycle unit will periodically patrol the highway up to Nilai to ensure the traffic situation is under control.
