‘This thing is not about Aaron Rodgers’ – Jets head coach delivers fiery press conference and hints at QB’s future

Aaron Glenn is not messing around. The New York Jets introduced their newest head coach on Monday and it’s safe to say that Glenn was fired up. Glenn will be looking to turnaround a franchise that hasn’t made the postseason since 2010Getty “Put your seatbelts on and get ready for the ride,” Glenn said. “Listen, there are going to be some challenges, but challenges give opportunity. “Here’s what I do know. We’re the freaking New York Jets. “We’re built for this s***.” If anyone knows what it’s like to be a New York Jet, it’s Glenn. He played eight seasons for Gang Green from 1994-2001, making two Pro Bowls and was named a member of the all-time decade team. Glenn isn’t going to be intimidated by the bright lights of New York City. But he is going to have his work cut out for him. The Jets haven’t made the postseason since 2010, which is the longest drought in all of American professional sports. They also have a handful of questions when it comes to the roster, most notably at the quarterback. Rodgers has one year remaining on his contract with the JetsGetty Glenn didn’t shy away from the Aaron Rodgers conversation. In fact, he brought it up himself and addressed it before he was even asked. “Just a couple things I want to nip in the bud before we get to the Q&A,” Glenn said. “Here’s what I do know. Aaron Rodgers will be talked about. “It will be talked about. “We’ve already [had] that communication with [him]. “As we continue to look at the roster, we’ll make decisions accordingly, and that’s with a number of people right on the team.” When asked further about more details between Rodgers and his future with the Jets, Glenn said they will be looking at everything and everyone. “We’re going to look at the whole roster,” Glenn said. “This thing is not about Aaron Rodgers, folks. “This is about the roster and we plan on building the best roster that we can. “Whatever that may be, guard, tackle, defensive tackle, that’s what we’re evaluating. “Listen, everybody’s under the microscope, that’s just what it is. “So we’re gonna do the best we can to make sure we’re gonna build the best roster.” No coach in the history of the NFL has ever won a game at his opening press conference, but Glenn spoke and sounded like a man with a plan.
