The Dinner: A Love Story Newsletter

Hello faithful blog readers. Can I tell you how much I love that you are still here, almost 15 years after I wrote my first post ever on the Dinner: A Love Story blog? Honestly, sometimes I can’t believe it myself. But then I think about my dinner table and how much it has evolved over the course of that period — from feeding my little grade schoolers to being an empty nester to taking care of our aging parents to pulling up a chair for our kids’ grown-up friends — and it makes sense. Dinner, no matter what form it takes, no matter who I am feeding, will always be my love language.

And just the way dinner evolves, so does the way I write about it. As we head into the holidays, I wanted to remind you that my recipes and essays are almost entirely appearing on Substack these days. I’ll post a recipe here on the blog every now and then, but if you subscribe to my newsletter, you’ll get access to recipe indexes, vacation itineraries (including New York, Lisbon, Kiawah Island, Maine), dispatches on my move from the suburbs to the city, complete menu plans for entertaining, not to mention bonus recipes like the coziest Vegetarian Shepherd’s Pie I make all winter long, My Big Giant Reset Dinner, plus the occasional Monday-to-Friday meal plan and Zoom Talk with bestselling authors.
