Teaser Trailer: Dennis Quaid In “Happy Face”

Paramount+ has released the official teaser trailer for “Happy Face,” the eight-episode true crime drama starring Dennis Quaid and Annaleigh Ashford.

The series is based on the true-crime podcast and autobiography “Shattered Silence” which chronicles the harrowing true story of Melissa G. Moore.

Moore was at a young age when she discovered her father, Keith Hunter Jesperson, was the notorious Happy Face Killer.

The killer, who got his nickname by drawing smiley faces on his letters to the media, killed at least eight women during the early 1990s and is currently serving life without parole.

After decades of no contact, Keith (Quaid) forces his way back into his daughter’s life, and Melissa (Ashford) must find out if an innocent man is going to be put to death for a crime her father committed.

In the process, she must face a reckoning of her own identity. Also starring are James Wolk, David Harewood, Tamera Tomakili, Khiyla Aynne and Benjamin Mackey.

Jennifer Cacicio (“Your Honor”) serves as series showrunner and executive produces the show alongside “The Good Wife” and “Evil” producers Robert & Michelle King.

“Happy Face” premieres on the Paramount+ service on March 20th.
