SNL50: The Homecoming Concert unveils musical lineup

Yes, you read that right: there is yet another Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary special coming up. On Friday, February 14, SNL50: The Homecoming Concert will air live from Radio City Music Hall, which is technically part of Rockefeller Center. Jimmy Fallon will host the special, which will stream live on Peacock at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT. The event will also broadcast live in select IMAX theaters, in case you’re looking to get out of the house on a Friday night that is also Valentines' Day. Free tickets for fans will be available to those screenings “at a later date,” per a press release.

As for the performers, The Homecoming Concert has done a pretty admirable job of assembling a roster of performers that speak to all eras of the series. There are 70s alt mainstays like David Byrne and The B-52s, 80s art poppers DEVO, 90s chart toppers Eddie Vedder and the Backstreet Boys, major pop acts from the 2000s Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus and Pitchfork-type favorites like Arcade Fire and Brittany Howard. Other performers include Bad Bunny, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Chris Martin, Jack White, Jelly Roll, Mumford & Sons, Post Malone, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Robyn, and, of course, The Roots. Per a press release, more acts will be announced before the concert.

The Homecoming Concert is scheduled to run three hours, and becomes the second SNL50 musical special after its 50 Years Of Music special. Mark Ronson produces The Homecoming Concert with—who else—Lorne Michaels.
