Senators to play two pre-season games in Quebec City
Senators owner Michael Andlauer announced the Senators will play two pre-season games at Videotron Centre in September.
The Ottawa Senators will be making a trip to Quebec City as part of their training camp next season.
Senators owner Michael Andlauer announced Monday the team will play two pre-season games at Videotron Centre.
The Senators will take on the New Jersey Devils, Sept. 28, at 3 p.m. ET, followed by an Atlantic Division showdown against the Montreal Canadiens on Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. ET.
Ottawa will also engage in a handful of team-building activities in Quebec City before the start of the 2025-26 regular season. Andlauer said the team will also hold public practices and take part in a number of community initiatives during their four-day stay in Quebec City.
“In addition to playing two games in front of passionate fans, this short trip will allow our players to spend a few days in a beautiful city as they put the finishing touches on their preparations for a new season,” Andlauer said.
“We can’t wait to get in front of the Quebec City crowd for a portion of our training camp,” added Senators president and CEO Cyril Leeder. “Quebec City was the obvious destination, and we’re very excited to see our players in action on the ice at Videotron Centre.”
Ottawa has been slowly working towards a new arena deal in LeBreton Flats, west of Parliament Hill.
This is not the first time the Senators have held events in Quebec after hosting an inter-squad game at the Slush Puppie Centre, home of the QMJHL’s Gatineau Olympiques, last September.
The Los Angeles Kings also held two pre-season games at the Videotron Centre against the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers. It was the first time since 2018 that the arena hosted an NHL pre-season game.
The 18,000-seat arena opened in 2015 in hopes of attracting a potential NHL franchise.
